This page shows the different strategies that I have done to encourage learning. One of the most outstanding strategies was bringing a word to class everyday. Students went back home and looked for words that they can bring to class and if the word was meaningful the whole class votes whether the word goes on the wall or not. When students bring words to the class I would write down the word with their names so they get motivated to look for new words. Students also get a badge saying “Words reward” so whenever they have a new word they get stickers. The process of this strategy have developed into students bringing in words and saying the definition with sentences, later students started writing the words and writing sentences using the word wall. The idea of creating sentences using the words came from Amna Khalifa who’s a colleague. This strategy allowed the students to develop their writing skills and extended their vocabulary in English.
